Carrington M. Carter


Carrington M. Carter is passionate about starting, developing, and growing businesses. He co-founded East Chop Capital as a way to do what he loves to do, but on a much larger scale. With the growth of their latest fund, they will grow to $100 million in AUM. Carrington is also Co-Founder of McKinley Carter Enterprises, a real estate investment and property management company that owns and operates a portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Under the
Getaway Society brand, they own and manage a portfolio of luxury vacation rental homes.

Carrington’s Background


Prior to running MCE full-time, Carrington worked for 10 years in pharmaceutical marketing at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Abbott Laboratories, and inVentiv Health. Throughout his corporate career, he has successfully marketed products in various stages of their life cycle, across therapeutic areas including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, antibiotics, and oncology. He gained significant experience working with diverse teams, matrix organizations, multi-million dollar budgets, and billion-dollar brands.

In the community, he is active in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc. Carrington graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Chemistry. He also earned an MBA in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh. Carrington enjoys reading, exercising, mentoring, traveling, and has been an avid investor for over 15 years. Carrington and his wife Kia reside in Columbus, OH.

Calvin is also owner of several healthcare marketing and education companies, and Managing Partner at McKinley Carter Enterprises, where he works alongside Carrington to manage a real estate portfolio that spans several domestic and international markets.

Calvin’s Background


CE Health Interactive provides medical education to the healthcare community. RCB Recycling specializes in wood pallet recycling and is a supplier of used pallets and specialty packaging to both the Northeast and national markets. Calvin is also Managing Partner at McKinley Carter Enterprises, LLC (MCE) and works alongside Carrington to manage a real estate portfolio that spans several U.S. and international markets.

Calvin graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Management Information Systems and earned his EMBA from Temple University. He is a member of the Hampton University Board of Trustees and serves as Vice Chair for the University of Pennsylvania Princeton Hospital Foundation Board. Calvin is married to April Haston Butts and they have three children ages 8, 7, and 4. He and his family reside in Allentown, NJ.
